PROGRESS

Every so often, I take a step back and assess my progress. How am I tracking against my previous goals?

What are my goals today? What is my plan to get there? This page should answer those questions.

Below, you can view a snapshot of my short and long term goals

as well as a collection of my periodic update letters.

Shout out to Maxim Zaslavsky for inspiring me to publish annual letters, grateful to have learned from him.

Short Term Goals (within 5 years)

1) Graduate in the top 10% of my class in the Masters of Accounting at USC. This is important to me because I haven't always put my best foot forward academically. My last semester of undergrad I earned a 4.0 while taking 19 units and I want to continue putting forth that level of effort in the classroom. Follow through.

2) Earn a position with the Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Company, or Bain. I want to work in management consulting because it will allow me to spread my impact across several industries and geographies without sacrificing substance. These jobs will keep me in uncomfortable positions where I'm forced to learn and adapt, and that's exactly what I'm looking for in a career. Problem solving.

3) Earn an MBA from Harvard Business School or the Stanford Graduate School of Business. I want to earn an MBA because it while help me improve my business skills and equip me to make a larger impact through my work. If possible, I hope to enter a dual MBA/JD program at one of these schools so I can build my legal skills as well. These programs are difficult to get into but I'm up for the challenge. Always improving.

Long Term Goals (10 years or more)

1) Use business skills to drive meaningful racial equity progress for my community. I believe that the intersection of business and social impact is a place where I can be most useful to the world and to my community.

2) Create an endowment giving $40,000 of scholarship annually to underrepresented college students. This is important to me because my family struggled financially putting my siblings and I through school, and I want to be able to ease that burden for families in the future. Programs that create educational opportunity were integral in my childhood and I want to contribute to programs like these in the future.

Quarterly Review Letters

This is a relatively new project for me. Essentially, I'll be publishing quarterly review letters so that anyone who's interested can follow along as I work toward my goals and reflect on the twist and turns in my own path through life. Since I've just started, I'll be posting letters for Q2, Q3 and Q4 of 2018 but after that I may transition to only including longer more general annual reviews.
